I was pleasantly surprised by the value for money at this hotel. The prices were affordable, especially considering the attention to detail in the rooms. The hotel is located in a convenient area, making it easy to explore the city.
No significant issues were encountered during my stay.

The owners were very helpful and friendly. The studio was really spacious. It is close to the Botanics Gardens - Centenary Lakes - Rain Forest walking tracks (20 minutes walk). The buses that take you to Palm Cove (bus 110) or Trinity Beach (bus 111) pass in front of the Hotel. The center is at 30 minutes walking (via the Esplanade you can have a nice walk).

I had a fantastic stay at a lodge in Cairns. The owners were super helpful and went above and beyond to make my trip memorable. They picked me up from the airport and even dropped me off at the train station. They also booked all my tours for me, which saved me a lot of time and hassle. The room was spacious and clean, with all the necessary amenities. I particularly liked the well-stocked kitchenette, which allowed me to cook my own meals. The lodge was in a good location, close to the Esplanade and on a bus route, making it easy to get around. the staff were friendly, the facilities were great, and the location was convenient.
Everything was great.

Free Wifi. Note that this can be expensive, some hotels in Cairns charge 25 Dollars/day for Wifi. The couple (Suzie and Mike) running the place are very nice. Mike gave me a ride into town to pick up my rental bicycle. Renting a bike was a good move as Cairns holiday lodge is about a 30-35 minutes walk from the town centre, I.E. ideal biking distance. Rental rates for bikes may be steep for short term but quickly flatten off (I payed 65 Dollars for 9 days).
Cairns Holiday lodge is located on a 100 m wide strip between McLeod and Sheridan Streets, both are major axes to get in/out of Cairns (towards the airport) with quite some traffic. My room was about 20 m from McLeod, so some traffic noise mainly in the morning. No shampoo or shower gel provided.

The owners gives you 10-15 % discount on sightseeing tours etc. Foxtel channels. God for English Premier League, remember it is on AV. Also good WIFI.

The location of the lodge is convenient for accessing nearby shops and restaurants. the room was tidy and had a small kitchen area, perfect for preparing meals. the availability of laundry facilities was a great bonus after a long trip.
The surrounding area of the lodge had a rather shady vibe, which made me feel unsafe when venturing out after 8 pm.

There were some negative aspects of our stay. The air conditioning in the room was quite noisy, making it difficult to sleep at night.

The kitchten is well equipped and if you've got a car and are not interested in the nightlife of Cairns, this hotel is a decent option.
The owners try to do their best to be friendly. The hotel claims to have free internet (which is true) but in fact E-mail is delivered once weekly by horse carriage. If you need the internet for serious work, you better go someplace else and pay for it.

The hotel is conveniently located near a bus stop, which made it easy to travel around the area. Lastly, the pool was a nice amenity to have on site.
The hotel was a bit dated and could use some updating. there were no elevators on site, which made it difficult to carry suitcases up to higher levels.
